Italian Chestnut Honey

Italian Chestnut Honey

Our Raw Chestnut Honey comes from the Piedmont region of Italy and is very high in minerals and antioxidants. As the tasting notes imply, this smoky, leathery honey is perfect for fans of whiskey or Lapsang Souchong. You may notice a slight hint of bitters on the finish with this honey, making it the ideal cheese board honey to pair with aged cheeses.

Chestnut Honey is made of both nectar and honeydew (the sweet, sticky dew aphids leave behind on trees), making it a contender for "healthiest honey", along with other honeydew honeys like our Italian Black Forest Honey. Chestnut Honey also has a relatively high fructose content, making this honey slow to crystallize.

Using Your Raw Chestnut Honey

Our Italian Chestnut Honey is an incredible addition to any cheese board, especially with pecorino and fresh pears, or a ripe Brie. We also recommend trying it drizzled over rustic bread with good butter for a breakfast like no other!
